NINE TRUE BILLS
"I am glad to be able to inform you that the list of business is not very long," said Mr. Justice Blair to the Grand Jury in the Supreme Court today at the beginning of the quarterly criminal sessions. His Honour thought that with one exception the cases would cause the Grand Jury no trouble. He reminded the jurymen that it was not their function to try the cases. They were there only to decide whether there were cases to try. His Honour then dealt with the list. True bills were returned in all cases as follows:— William Murphy, alleged breaking and entering with intent to commit a crime. Samuel Alien, alleged theft. Dudley Holdsworth Smith, alleged unlawful conversion of a motor-car. Owen Lester 'Sievers Jarrett, alleged negligent driving, thereby causing death. Edward Devereux, alleged breaking and entering and theft. William James Vernon Brown, alleged receiving of stolen property, knowing it to have been dishonestly obtained. William Mcßeynolds, alleged negligent driving, thereby causing death (two charges). Stanley Win wood McKissick Reid, alleged assault with intent to commit rape. John Sandford Valvoi, alleged theft from the person. ' The Grand Jury consisted of William Forsythe (foreman), Frederick Hill Porter, Royston Stanley Clark. Arthur James Nanearrow, Hilton Richards George Clark Niven, Herbert John Colgate, David Markman, Robert Armstrong, Whitfleld Forster, John Paris Hooper, John Phillip Hewitt, Robert Hugh Davidson Nichol, Charles Stewart Nelson, Ernest Horton Picot, George Stanley Amos, Herbert Harrison, William Leslie Gordon Holmes | Norman Jowett, Robert Andrew McKay Arlow, William James Murray Aitker, Harry Ernest Combs, and Robert Barnes Gibbons.
