FREIGHTER SUNK :
COLLISION IN FOG
THE CREW SAVED

■NEW YORK, May 3. The Canadian freighter Planter (5837 tons) collided with the British freighter City of Auckland (8336 tons) in a fog in Nantucket Sound early this morning and sank almost immediately. Tha crew of 35 of the Planter were safely taken aboard the City of Auckland, which is not seriously damaged.
