BETTY'S DREAM

(Original.)

BETTY looked dreamily up at the ceiling. "I wonder if the white rabbit will come to me?" "Of course-he will," said a twinkling voice. It was a tiny fairy with silver-paper wings sitting on the bed-post. "Come with me and see him and his friends," \ \ , Now this was just Avha't Betty wanted so she put on her clothes and followed the fairy through the window. She skipped across the garden and into the meadows. Everything looked different now. The dandelions were little orange lamps, the daisies were held high by .little green elves,: the grass was perfectly even so Betty and the fairy went on further. Presently they came to a tiny;cave lit up by little lamps" and here, there, and everywhere were those sparkling, shining, coloured Easter Eggs. Tiny fairies like her guide were busy tying,.ribbons and fastening toys and handkerchiefs on them. Suddenly the most beautiful; white rabbit appeared in the doorway. Following him were his followers, all white,

rabbits. The fairies collected the eggs, addressed them', and tied them into bundles immediately and gave them to the rabbits. One by one the rabbits went out and Betty and the fairy went too. The fairy took Betty home and left a wonderful egg all colours, with a lovely bow on it by her bed and said, "Good-bye Betty, I'll leave something to remind you of me." and she put a sparkling fairy on the egg. Then she flew away. ■ ' , ~ ,•■ ~ j•: Betty looked and looked at the egg and suddenly she discovered it was daylight. "Why, what a wonderful time I've had," said Betty to Mother! who had come in.
