THOROUGHBRED SALE
MR. J. J. CORRY'S HORSES
Instructed by Mr. J. J. Corry, who is retiring from breeding and racing owing to ill health, Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., bloodstock sales-, men, will conduct an unreserved dispersal sale of racehorses, brood mares, yearlings, and the stallion Rabbi at the Waterlea racecourse, Blenheim, on the morning of May 9, prior to the second day of the Marlborough. Racing Club's Autumn Meeting. The whole of Mr. Corry's horses will be sold.
Among the lots is the successful stallion Rabbi, a ten-year-old chestnut horse by Paladin tsire Of numerous stayers, including two New Zealand Cup winners) from Rachel, by that great sire of stayers Kilbroney. Rabbi, with very limited opportunity, is already the sire of Synagogue (A.J.C. Epsom Handicap), Arctic King, etc. He was a great performer on the New Zealand Turf, and is a magnificent type of the thoroughbred. Last season he was leased by Sir Charles Clifford for his Stonyhurst Stud. The brood mares to be offered include:—Maritza (dam of winners), by Martian—Snowlike; Attar, by Kilbroney—Maritza; Maritza's daughter by Rabbi; Imateagirl (a noted winner), By Tea Tray—lroaribbon; Abigail (halfsister to Imateagirl), by Surveyor; Rosenur (dam of Makeup, best hurdle horse in New Zealand), by. Kilboy— Roseland; Our Rose (half-sister to Rosenur), by Surveyor; Makeshift, by Diacquenod—Rosenur; Miladi (a good winner), by \ Weathervane—Frenzied Finance; Consummation (half-sister to the good winners Landmark, Freezeout, Revision, and Korero), by Grand Knight—Consultation; Maypay (fullsister to A.J.C. Epsom winner Autopay), by Paper Money-—Trehelli II; and Pepperpot (dam of Conversion), by Gsnnrsl Latour—Aunt Sally. Most of the m-ves have been stinted to Lord Warden. Cricket Bat,, or Rabbi. Horses in training to be sold in- . elude:—Pawky, 4 years, by Rabbi— Roseland; Myriam, 3 years, by Lord Warden—Alyson, a lovely filly; Zionist, 4 years, by Rabbi—Reckless (the dam a half-sister to Ilium and Tankard); Imasurvey, 7 years, by Surveyor —Imaribbon, a promising hurdler; Nightguard, 7 years (brother to -Phar Lap); Adieux, 3 years, by Rabbi— Jumelle; Korero, 6 years, by Surveyor —Consultation; Kozan, 8 years, by Tea Tray—Rachel; 'colt, 2 years, by Sky Blue—Valmac, untried, bred on successful jumping lines; filly, 2 years, by Rabbi—Cessation, untried.

There are also a number of foals by Rabbi, including a half-brother to Makeun.
