ISLAND BAY CARNIVAL.
Numerous Attractions.
The glorious ■ weather ■is attracting great crowds to the Island Bay carnival and the committee,-with an^army of Workers, is nothing undone to make the carnival a ]oyous occa sion for visitors. Easter_ Monday should be a memorable day for this Dopular beach resort, as the attractions attractions are complete even for the thirsty and hungry, as visitors- may provide themselves with soft drinks of all varieties, and every class of foodstuffs, hot or cold, from properly-equipped stalls. The carnival will be open all day on Monday and it is understood that the attractions provided for the ensuing week are many and varied. A baby show is being featured for next Tuesday afternoon, and the three best babies will receive valuable prizes. There should be a swarm of young ones to get into the money on 'Tuesday. The numerous supporters of the tour queen candidates are working at fever heat and thS contest promises to be very close. Every art union ticket purchased gives three votes for a queen candidate, as well as to offer the purchaser an opportunity .of a prizei of £20 worth of alluvial gold and other prizes.
