ELDERLY MAN'S DEATH

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

HAMILTON, This Day.

Knocked down by a motor-cycle, and again by a motor-car as he was rising from the first impact in Victoria Street on Wednesday afternoon. Alfred Bernard Scherer, aged 74, a retired farmer, succumbed in the Waikato Hospital yesterday.

The deceased was struck a glancing blow by the handlebar of a motorcycle ridden by E. L. Taylor. As he was rising from the ground he was again struck and hurled to the road by a car driven by a woman whose identity has not yet been established but who is thought to be a resident of Taupiri.
