BEAUTIFUL BRIDAL GOWN

The Wedding ofMary Florence Ward and Percy Raymond Hoare took place at 7 o!clock last night in St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. W. F. Ward, Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank, and Mrs. Ward, Molesworth Street, and the bridegrobm is the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Hoare, The Terrace. Canon Percival James performed the ceremony, and Mr. Robert Parker played the wedding music. Pink and red gladioli decorated the altar, and beautiful hydrangeas were massed on either side of the chancel steps.

Mr. Ward escorted his daughter into the church, and she was attended by one bridesmaid, her cousin, Miss Nell Ward, of Hamilton. Mr; William McKelvie was the best man, and the ushers were Mr. William Ward, the bride's brother, and Mr. Tyrrol Smith.

The bridal gown of handsome silver brocaded off-white satin was made with a high neck finished with an upstanding roll collar. The bodice buttoned down the back and the long tight-fitting sleeves had buttons to the elbow. • The slim-fitting skirt was cut on the cross, the only fullness being let into the back and forming a long pointed train. Three narrow bands of silver lame, placed far back on the head and finished on either side with, a small cluster of orange blossom, held in place the long cloudy white tulle

veil. This veil was arranged in three layers, each shorter, than the other, and the smallest one the bride wore over her face until after the ceremony, and she carried a lovely sheaf of white gladioli. Jade green georgette was' Worn by the bridesmaid, made with narrow panels of pleats stitched down to the knees to give fullness in the skirt, high slit neck, and short puff sleeves. She wore a halo headdress of plaited gold lame and carried a bouquet of flowers in autumn shades with long streamers of autumn leaves.

The bride's mother was dressed in a gown of angel skin lace of _ fawn flowers on a brown ground, a small brown, hat of peach bloom felt, trimmed with feathers in shades of brown and fawn, and carried a. bouquet of flowers in zinnia shades. A deep winecoloured lace gown with a hat to match was worn by the bridegroom's mother, and she carried a bouquet of flowers to tone. , . ,

Beautiful flowers were used to decorate the rooms for the reception given by Mr. and Mrs. Ward. There were large bowls of hydrangeas, and except for these all the flowers used were in zinnia tonings. , There were masses/of dahlias, chrysanthemums, and zinnias mixed. with gypsophyla, > maidenhair fern, and autumn leaves, and at the base of the wedding cake there was a bank of pale pink dahlias and autumn leaves.

When Mr. and Mrs. P. R. Hoare left for a tour the bride was wearing a smart, suit of plum and fawn tweed with which she wore a plum-coloured felt hat, a fawn woollen high-necked jumper, and plum-coloured accessories.
