GOOD ENTERTAINMENTS

•■'■■ The. patients of the Victoria "Ward at the hospital were entertained by* a concert party organised by Mr. C. A. Cooze, consisting of piano, instrumental, singing, elocution, and dancing. The following contributed to the programmer—Misses Marjory Whittington, Gwitha Dear, June Hayes, Gloria Hassett, Kathleen Millard, Violet Smith, Dorothy Seymour, Gloria Kemsley, Peggy McFadden, Kathleen Jamieson, Faieri' Dear, Joan Eteveneaux, Betty Sparkes, Audrey Bowens, Gwen Bowden, Eileen Jorgenson, arid Henry; Mesdames Childs and Odey; Messrs. Childs, E. Rogers, P. Shannon, E. McKinnon, B. Walters, ands G. Eteveneaux. The dances were performed by Miss Chown and pupils of Mr. Claude Saunders. At the piano were Misses Smith, Dorothy Seymour, and Messrs. Claude Saunders and Nelson. Mr. G. Petherick, on behalf of the board, sisters and nurses, and women patients, -proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr. Cooze and his party, which was carried unanimously.' HOME FOR AGED NEEDY. Mrs. Ethel Hardies entertainers, assisted by Mrs. Rosenthall and pupils, were responsible for a very bright entertainment at the Home for Aged Needy recently. The programme consisted of Maori hakas, elocutionary numbers, pianoforte solos, songs at the piano, solos, fancy costume and tap dancing, yodelling, and some beautiful singing by a boy soprano, Master Fuken (a pupil of Mrs. Kosenthall), Mesdames Hardie, Rosenthall, Metcalf, Misses Zeta Hardie, Thompson, and McKelvey, Messrs. R. Hardie, F. Collinson, D. Jepson, and G. Austin. After the concert a generous supper was provided by Mrs. Hardie and her friends.

Mr. F. Collinson presided, and Mesdames Hardie and Metcalf and Messrs. D. Jepson and G. Austin were accompanists. At the close, Mr. H. Lancaster, of the staff, thanked Mrs. Hardie and all Who had helped to provide such an excellent entertainment. ' ' .
