The Rt. Hon. Sir Michael Myers, Chief Justice, accompanied by Lady Myers, left for England today by the Rangitata. They will be away until October. During Sir Michael's absence the Hon. Mr. Justice Reed, as senior puisne Judge, will act as Chief Justice.

The board of the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand, Ltd., after: giving due consideration to the finding of the Court of Inquiry, has decided that Captain Cameron shall relinquish command of the Rangatira. Captain Cameron will shortly proceed to England on private leave and will bring out from the. Clyde the Kauri, now building there for the Company.

The resignation of Commissioner W. G. Wohlmann was received with', unanimous regret by the Wellington Acclimatisation Society last night. The chairman. (Dr. G. F. V. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Sladden left Wellington last night for Auckland, where they will stay- over the Easter' holidays. .
