MANY EASTER MATCHES
"FIELD DAY" 'AT THE PARK
Although the Rugby season, does not open officially until next month, many footballers will be in action during the Easter holidays. Numerous special matches have been arranged, and with teams from other parts taking the field against local teams there should be much to interest those who are keenly anticipating the coming season's football.
There will be something like a "field clay" at Athletic Park on Saturday. Four matches are set. down to be played during the afternoon, and in each match there will be a visiting team against a local side. At 1.30 p.m. Kaierau (Wanganui) will meet Oriental (Wellington),' and simultaneously with that, match the Punahau team from Levin will try conclusions with Wellington College' Old Boys. The Maoris'trom'Levin play no small part in making the afternoon's football entertaining. The Napier High School Old Boys.expect to field a strong team against Wellington College Old Boys in one <® the 3 p.m. "matches at Athletic Park. It is expected that the visiting side will include several well-known Hawke's Bay representatives, ■■ among them Rolls, Clothier, and Bradley. College Old Boys will have a strong team to oppose the Napier side. Then, to, there will be a match between Hut Mai (Horowhenua) and Athletic (Wellington), also at 3 p.m., .»nd here again there should be some interesting and entertaining football. At the Hutt Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon a match will be: played between Masterton Old Boys and Hutt, and at the Petone Recreation Ground there will be the old timers' match and other attractions, with another special one to follow on Monday —Poneke v. Petone.
