LABOUR ORGANISATION
A PLEDGE TO GOVERNMENT
(By Telegraph) (Special to the "Evening Post.")
DUNEDIN, This Day,
The Minister of Labour, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, recently sent a reply to the chairman of the building trade workers on the new Post Office in connection with a resolution forwarded to him. The Minister stated that the workers could rest assured that the Government would carry out every promise made, and, furthermore, if the workers would play their part as well as the members of the Government, big things would be possible. The following further letter has been forwarded to the Minister: "We thank you for your reply to our resolution. We express our staunch support to our Labour Government in anything of benefit to workers. To assist the Government to carry into effect its programme we pledge ourselves to strengthen our industrial organisation by those of us who are not yet in any union joining the. appropriate union and all others striving in our organisation for one union in the building industry."
