ATTRACTIVE DECORATIONS
Over two hqndred . £ nests attended the ball given by Tflr. apd Mrs, Herbert Acton-Adams on Saturday night at their beautiful home, ''Tipapa," North Canterbury, to celebrate the "coming oiif pf'their only daughter, Peggy (states, the s'Ejtar-sSun"). Another debutante, at the ball was Anne, daughter pf- Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Fell, Wanganui, and a seha.P.l friend of Miss Acton-Adams- at Woodford .IJPuse.
Three- rooms were set-aside for dancing, and supper was served in a marquee on the lawn. A long terrace had been enclosed for -sitting-gut, and the garden, lighted up with red lights., was doubtlesp a popular rendezvous. An oyster bar was another attraction.
The decorations were chiefly autumn flowers, which were massed in all the reception roams*. Mixed flgwers were arranged in long troughs on the mantelpieces, a,nd supper-table decora^ tipns included charming bowls of mixed flowers, and coloured candles in branched candlesticks. A new novelty had been planned by the hostess, who provided a "debutante"
