PALMERSTON N., This Day.
There has been .considerable speculation as to who will be appointed to succeed Dr. C. J. Reakes as DirectorGeneral of Agriculture when the latter relinquishes office shortly. A "Post" representative has been Informed that in all probability the new head of the Department will be a gentleman intimately connected with the industry, more particularly from the scientific side," who is at present a resident of Palmerston North.
