HAWERA TEAM FOR NORTH

(Special from "Limited.")

J. Brown was booked to leave for Auckland by train with Notium this evening. The two-year-old is in splendid order, and with a couple of sprints at Ellerslie will strip a fit horse for his engagements. O. Cox is expected to leave by the same train with Friesland. Friesland was galloped Ellerslie way round on Saturday morning, managing the right-hand turns comfortably, and easily defeating Knock Out over five furlongs. J. Fryer, with Le Grand. Supreme Court, Soloist, Ned Cuttle, and possibly Cctpey, are booked to leave on Wednesday. One Whetu, who is engaged in the Feilding Cup, galloped six furlongs with Le Grand and Supreme Court reverse way round, and, shaping well, finished in front of Le Grand, with Supreme Court two lengths back in lmin 18sec. All three shaped well. Le Grand is a muchimproved horse, and Supreme Court looks likely to show his best form yet. C. P. Sheild will do most of the riding.

Copey was given a turn, over lour of the steeplechase fences on Saturday, finishing up with a splendid jump over the hen-coop. He is in great condition for this stage of his preparation for coming jumping events. Silvanus is a delicate feeder and nothing serious has been done with her since racing at Awapuni. Aga Khan went particularly well maa gallop over seven furlongs on the plough covered in Imin 33sec. He jumped much more confidently in his last schooling effort and will have to be taken into serious consideration for Feilding. He is galloping very freely again. Unfortunately R. Webbv, who rides him in his schooling, will be at Ellerslie, so a new rider will be on him next weekend. The Roydon gelding Valroy, in O. Cox's stable, is coming on well and on Saturday he sprinted three furlongs in 37usec, finishing strongly.
