HAWKER CRUSHED BY LORRY
A fractured left thigh and severe, shock were sustained by V. R. Haslem, a hawker, residing at 50. Boulcott Street, this afternoon as a result .of his being crushed between : his light van and a runaway lorry. ■
The accident occurred at the corner of Tory and Jessie Streets at 12.45 p.m., and was caused by the hand-brake of the lorry slipping and allowing it to run backwards. Haslem was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance.
