WOMEN IN THE COUNCIL
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —The Government has appointed fourteen new members to the Legislative Council and if the Prime Minister is to be believed they represent "the farmers, the commercial men, the professional men, and the workers;" Could you enlighten me on who represents the "women"? Are they included among "the workers"? I have always understood that the Labour Party stood for equality of sex. If that is so does the Government intend to amend the Act and allow women to take seats in the Upper House?—l am, etc., '
WORKER'S WIFE.
