STEAMER SIMONSIDE
MORE TROUBLE WITH CREW
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
NEW PLYMOUTH, March 10.
When the steamer Simonside left New Plymouth for Westport tonight her crew was about fifteen fewer than that with which she . arrived from Auckland.
When the ship was ready to sail several firemen and seamen were missing, and the vessel pulled out into the stream, it being stated a launch would take the men out if they reported. When the pilot launch returned after the ship had been piloted out, however, it was stated that it had been decided to sail immediately.
When at Auckland recently several members of1 the crew;were prosecuted for refusal to obey orders. The captain then, complained that it was the worst crew he had ever sailed with, and the men retorted with allegations that the Simonside.i.was ,a "hellship." ■•
