The Wellington Presbytery met last evening, the Moderator, the Rev. D. M. Hercus, being in the chair. It was announced that Mr. K. P. Lilley, home missionary at Roseneath, had been transferred to Greytown. No appointment to Roseneath would be made in the meantime. Arrangements had been made that Mr. John Lopdell, son of the Rev. J. E. Lopdell; of Lower Hutt. should be in charge at Plimmerton, and the-Rev. JohnMcCaw would supply afterwards. Presbytery decided to approve of the compilation of a hymn book for the use of young people, and recommended that the General Assembly appoint the compilation committee. Leaders' training classes were announced for the winter months by the youth committee, which also reported that two Bible class camps would be held at Easter, at Otaki (women) and Waikanae (men).

A circular was read in . connection with petition forms demanding disarmament. It was asked that the forms should be sent to congregations for signing. The international affairs committee of the General Assembly had recommended the petition to the wholehearted support of the Church. The petition is being circulated and signed in the countries of the world calling on respective Governments to fulfil international pledges by immediate cessation of increases in armaments and armed forces; the use of existing machinery for the peaceful settlement of present conflicts; a world treaty for immediate reduction of arms as a step towards complete world disarmament, and international agreements founded on recognition of world interdependence to end the economic anarchy which breeds war. The matter was referred to the public questions committee for action.
