HUNTLY MINE IDLE

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAMILTON, This Day. AIJ mines in the Himtly toalfleldi were again idle today while stop-work meetings were held to consider the latest developments in the dispute'between the men and the mine management over the question of machines being employed in the pillar workings. The Huntly miners met this morning to consider a strike proposal, and, although no official statement was given, it is understood that a majority of the men favoured a proposal to return to work. Meetings will be held this afternoon in other mining townships,' and the decision of the 1000 men affected will probably be known tonight. During the previous period of idleness prior to.the sitting of a special dispute committee the Pukemiro Collieries were unaffected, but today this mine, too, was idle. '■ ' '... ■
