ROTARY INTERNATIONAL

(From "The Post's" Representative.) LONDON, January 18. The Rotary International has accepted the invitation of the Rotary Club of London to hold its twenty-eights annual convention of 1937 in London, from June 6 to June 11. This is the first time that the convention has been held in London, and It is expected that it will bring about 10,000 Rotarians and their friends from all parts of the world. It was hoped to hold the 1931 convention in London, but the organisers were doubtful about London's ability at that time to deal- with the problem of hotel accommodation for so large an influx of visitors, and the, convention went instead to Vienna. The decision to hold it here next year has been made possible by the guarantee of adequate accommodation that has been obtained by the co-operation of the Travel Association, the Hotels and Restaurants' Association, and the Residential Hotels' Association. The Rotary movement is now established in nearly eighty different countries. There are 3900 clubs, and the total membership exceeds 160,000.

A charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a car in Seaview Road last evening was made against David Hugh Miller, before Mr. A. Anderson, J.P., in the Petone. Court today. He was remanded until tomorrow.
