The issue of the annual report of the Poor Persons' Procedure by Law Society marks the close of the first ten years, in which the administration of High Court poor persons' procedure has been carried on voluntarily by the society, together with provisional law societies. In that period some 52,000 applications have been considered and 16,000 actions have been conducted —in the great majority of cases successfully— entirely gratuitously for poor persons.
