MOUNT LYELL.
The Mount Lyell Mining and Railway Co., Ltd., gives the following report for the fortnight ended January 22-—North Mount Lyell Mine: Tons extracted, 4549; 1300 ft level, No. 3 rise to 91ft through mineralised schist. Crown -Lyell Mine: Tons extracted, 393. Royal Thai-sis Mine: Tons extracted, 3428. No. 6 level, transfer pass crosscut to 39ft, through low-grade ore. West Lyell Mine: Tons extracted, 13,691. Prince Lyell Mine: Tons extracted, 73. Lyell Comstock Mine: Tons extracted, 3430. No. 4 level, No. 2 mullock drive to 55ft, through mineralised schist. No. 7 level, main shaft to 366 ft through micaceous quartzite. Reduction works: Furnace in blast 8 days of period; 3170 tons refinery anodes made for current year. Concentrator: Mill operated 336 hours and treated 25,078 tons ore, producing 1845 tons concentrates. Copper refinery: Tank house in operation throughout fortnight, 505 tons cathode copper being produced for the period. Total for current year, 4128 tons.
