LONDON, January 24.
King George's crimson robe, trimmed with ermine, which has always been worn at the opening of Parliament, has now been draped at the Coot of the coffin in .Westminster Hall, below the orb and sceptre, the colour blending with the purple pall which was first seen at the burial of the "Unknown Warrior" in 1920. It has since been used at the funerals of many famous people, including Queen Alexandra, and was presented to Westminster Abbey by the Actors' Church Union in memory of the three hundred actors who were killed in the war. Rain continued all night. Many in the queue were without umbrellas, covering their heads with newspapers. As 10 o'clock approached it was obvious that the mile-long procession would never pass the coffin before the time fixed for closing and the authorities accordingly ordered the police to prevent further queueing up, but to keep the hall open until all then assembled had entered.
