The Australian field and track championships concluded yesterday! Results include: —
220 yards.—R. .Moflatt (Victoria), 1; T Hampson (New South Wales), 2; H. Vales (Victoria), 3. Won by two yards. Time. 22sec. 880 yards.— G. Backhouse (Victoria), 1; T. Irvvin (Victoria). 2; J. McCaffrey (Victoria), 3. Won by two yards. Time, lmin 55sec, an Australian record. 440 yards hurdles.—A. Watson (Victoria), 1; F. O'Brien (New Soutn Wales) 2; S. Stenncr (New Soijth Wales), 3. Won by ten yards. Time, The hammer throw was won by M. Rosenblum (New South Wales) willi a throw of 133 ft liin.
The hop, step, and jump was won by B. Dickenson (New South Wales) with 49ft 8 3-Bin. The three miles walk was won by W. Marston (Victoria). Time, 21min 59sec. The three miles was won by J. Sheaves (New South Wales). Time, 14min 54 4-ssec. The discus throwing was won by H. Wilson (Victoria) with 129 ft 4Jin.
The running high jump was won by D. Shetliffe (New South Wales) with 6ft 2 3-Bin.
Victoria retained the Coombes Shield by eleven' wins to New South Wales's eight. The other States failed to record a win.
