The British Government has decided to spend £100,000,000 on roads in the next five years, and the railways have decided on plans for spending £40,000,000. The railway schemes embrace the relaying of 400 miles of the Great Western track and the building by the L.M.S. of hundreds of passenger coaches and thousands of goods vehicles.
