DELIGHTFUL PICNIC
A DAY AT WAINUI-O-MATA
A delightful picnic was held by the members of the Wainui-o-mata Women's Insriiate recently. Members assembled during the morning at "Wood-Hatton," the residence of Mrs. Faulke, who very kindly lent her home and grounds for the occasion.
Strolling round the gardens and the bush passed away the morning. After lunch, which was partaken of under shady trees on the lawn, half an hour was spent on business matters.. Miss Gordon's hospitality scheme was discussed, also the matter of sending a Women's Institute delegate to the conference of the Associated Country Women of the World to .be held in Washington. It was'decided to support the idea of sending a delegate.
The rest of the afternoon was spent in bathing in the river. Two swimming races were held, one for ladies being won by Miss E. Drummond, and one for boys by.Tom Faulke. The lovely weather made.the outing most enjoyable, and Mrs. Faulke was heartily thanked for the use, of-her grounds.
