Mrs. A. Farrington, who has been touring abroad, will arrive in Wellington, accompanied by her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. S. W. WestNewman, by the Makura on Monday. Mrs. West-Newman is well known in Wellington as Miss Joyce Farrington. She and her husband will only be spending a few days in Wellington. Miss I. Wilson, Wellington, is visiting Napier. M^ss Kura Clarke, Dunedin, is visiting Wellington,* and is the guest of Miss Betty Kofoed, The Terrace. Mrs. N. Grahame Steele has returned to Wellington after visiting her sister, Mrs. G. W. Willis, "Willesdene Estate," Poronui, Christchurch. Mrs. Aplin and Miss Ngaire Aplin are the guests of Mrs. Leslie Roskruge, Eastbourne. Miss A. F. Ironside is a Christchurch visitor to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. William J. Arcus, Khandallah, have returned to Wellington after spending a month's holiday touring the North Island. Mr. and Mrs. H. Craig and their daughters, Doris and Shirley, left for the south last night. They have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. B. Chadwick, Masterton. Dr. and Mrs. L. Bastings have returned to Wellington after a brief holiday at Eastbourne. Mrs. Valeric Barker and Mrs. Richard Barker (Gisborne) are staying at the Midland Hotel. Mrs. D. Todd, Eastbourne, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. Churchouse, Kelburn. Mrs. G. Oliver has returned to Wellington after spending a holiday with her mother, Mrs. M. Paull, New Plymouth. . • • Miss Irene Isaacs, Christchurch, is visiting Wellington, and is staying at Sayes Court. Dean Brocklehurst, Napier, accompanied by Mrs. Brocklehurst, will leave Wellington today for England. Misses B. and L. Swainson (Pahiatua) and Mrs. Dent (Gisborne). are staying at the Hotel Cecil. Miss Vida Churchouse, Kelburn, is visiting Te Mahia. Mrs. L. H. Mager, Auckland, and her small daughter, Phyllis, have been the guests of Miss N. Green, Hataitai, prior to leaving by the Rangitane today, en route to London. Mrs. R. Hume (Featherston), Mrs. and Miss Storey (Sydney), Mrs. Peach and Miss B. Sampson (Napier) are staying at the Royal Oak Hotel. Mrs. W. Murie and Miss Marjorie Murie, Seatoun, returned from the south yesterday morning. Mrs. N. Hicks and Miss D. Wauchop (Christchurch), Mrs. D. M. Neall and Mrs. M. Roberts (Sydney), Mrs. J. Mac Donald (Palmerston North), Mrs. J. Masterson (Havelock North), Miss M. Speedy (Dannevirke), Mrs. R. Stothard Brown and Mrs. F. H. Drewitt (Christchurch) are guests at the Hotel St. George. Mrs. F. Williams and Miss M. Williams, who have been the guests of Mrs. A. Goldie, Herne Bay, have returned to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Whitehead have left Wellington for Sydney. Recent Wellington visitors to "The Hermitage" include the following:— Mr. F. S. King and son, Mr. W. Lindop, Mr. and Mrs. Scriven, Mr. B. H. Aveling, Mr. and Mrs. E. Baggett, and Miss D. Baggett. Mrs. L. Forgie has returned to Wellington from a visit to her sister, Mrs. R. H. Priest, Timaru. Mrs. Audrey Watkins, Timaru, is visiting Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Mitchell left Wellington this morning on a tour of the North Island by motor-car. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Webber and Mr. Jack Webber, Hastings, have returned home from Wellington.

Mrs. J. H. Jennings (Takaka) will leave by the Marama on an extended tour of the East. At Singapore she will be the guest of Mrs. W. J. Legg, who will later accompany her to China and Japan.

Miss McGhee (Hawke's Bay). Mrs. S. Palmer (Auckland), Mrs. Hallam and Mrs. Henderson (Waipukurau), Mrs. E. J. O'Sullivan (Eltham), Mrs. Mac Donald (Palmerston North), Mrs. J. H. Boyd (Tauranga), Mrs. B. B. Vercoe (Dunedin), and Mrs. A. J. McLaine (Invercargill) are staying at the Empire Hotel.

Mrs. G. W. Hewart (Palmerston North) is staying at the Grand Hotel.
