SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS.
Since yesterday a rather shallow westerly depression has advanced very rapidly across the South Tasman Sea and pressures In the south have fallen considerably. Winds are rather variable but north-westerlies predominate south of New Plymouth and East Cape and in Cook Strait they are strong. Though cloudy to overcast in many, places, the weather has been mainly fair. A few scattered light to moderate rains have been reported. Temperatures have been moderate.
