HOME FOR AGED PEOPLE
SEASONAL FESTIVITIES
On Sunday. evening the residents of the Home "for .Aged Needy People, Wellington South, had the annual visit/from the nurses of the Wellington led by'the lady superintendent, Miss Cooksori, and, Sister Aidrich,;'ipf the Ewart Hospital., Christ-mas-carols .were very, beautifully sung by the nurses, who wore their uniforms and red: capes and carried lighted qandles. Their friendly action was much appreciated by the old folk. Mr. H. 'Lancaster, of the staff, conveyed greetings and' thanks to all who had taken part. •
Christmas festivities at the home, which presented a.very bright appearance, were very much appreciated. The dining-room was beautifully decorated with choice flowers. At breakfast, which, was a special one, everyone received gifts of money, and presents and cards from the trustees. ;The dinner was-a great event and thoroughly enjoyed by alii A number of visitors were present, including Mr. George Petherick, who conveyed greetings from the trustees. He warmly thanked the matfOri; Miss E. Mackay, and staff for their loyal services during' the past year.' Mr/, Martin ' and Mrs.' Osborne, trustees, also spoke. It being the occasion of Mr. Petherick^s bjirthday, Mr. H. Lancaster conveyed congratulations, and greetings also to the trustees. .'.,. ■ „> ■■■...- . .
