GAS POISONING
BOY FOUND DEAD
MOTHER AND SISTER IN SERIOUS CONDITION
(ry. Telegraph—Press association.) DUNEDIN, This Day. Kenneth Godwin, aged 15, a linotype mechanic, is dead, and his mother, Annie Godwin, aged 38, and his sister Nancy, aged 10, are in hospital in a serious condition as a result of gas poisoning at a house in 49 Arthur Street. The family only took possession of the house oh Saturday, and the disconnected gas and electric fittings, were to be reconnected this morning. .
When the plumber arrived at 10 o'clock he failed \to. get any response. He. looked through the letter slit and saw a woman's body in the hall. Entry was forced and the woman was found unconscious. The girl was in a similar condition in bed. The whole house was full of gas, the lead seal on the inlet pipe having been removed. Later the body of the boy was found in an upstairs bedroom. All were •in night attire, and had evidently been overcome with the gas during sleep.l
