The Hon. W. Downie Stewart and Miss Stewart, Dunedin, are spending the holidays in South Canterbury.

;Miss Irene - Wilson, '.principal 'of Queen Margaret College, Wellington, is a visitor to Christchurch, "where she' will spend Christmas with her mother, Mrs. J. H. Wilson, Cashmere Hills.

Miss Thelma Willoughby, Wellington, who is staying in Auckland, will leave tomorrow by the Aorangi for Sydney.

Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Wallens arrived by the Maunganui,- and will be, the guests of Mrs. Wallens's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. A. Gill, Rawhiti Terrace. . , •

Miss Alison Pearce, Hobson Street, left on Saturday for Kakau, Hauraki Gulf, where she will spend the holidays.

Mr. and Mrs, Bruce Stennett and their small daughter arrived by car from Auckland yesterday, and are the guests of Mrs. H. A. Shepherd; "Wharepuni," Hataitai.

Miss. Doris Rossiter, Adelaide Road, left today by the Napier express to spend a holiday with her aunt, Mrs. Norberg,. Gisborne. She will travel by air itbnx Napier £q Gisborne. '. Mrs. and Miss Mathieson were among those , who returned by' the Maunganui from Australia. Mrs. D. A. Hamilton and Miss Leslie Hamilton, Palmer Street, Wellington, are visiting Napier. Mrs. W. Silver, who recently arrived from Melbourne, is the guest of Mrs, A. Cohen, "Canberra," Muritai, for Christmas, and will return to Melbourne by the-Monowai on December 30 Mr. and Mrs T.
