The general forecast for the Dominion as a whole, issued at noon today, is for northerly to north-wester-ly winds, which will be moderate to strong generally, and will reach gale force at times south of New Plymouth and Napier. There will be a change to southerlies tonight in the southern portion of the South Island. For the most part the weather has been fair and mild to warrri;" but cloudy skies have ruled in districts with a westerly aspect and a few scattered showers have fallen on the . West Coast and in the southern districts of- the South Island.

Fair to fine and warm weather has ruled in Auckland, winds being light and variable.

Wellington's weather yesterday was dull and threatening, and a trace of rain fell at times. The wind was a strong north-westerly. Only 2.7 hours of bright sunshine were recorded, and the day's maximum temperature was only 62.6 degrees.

It was overcast and warm in Christchurch yesterday. The wind in the morning was a light westerly, but was north-easterly in direction during the afternoon.
