SIR ABB RACING SOLIDLY
Owing to the fact that he makes a noise, there is a doubt about Sir Abb, but he is racing solidly, and his two performances at Avondale last weekend were good (says a northern writer). He just missed the Dargayille Cup, and then scored narrowly in' the President's Handicap, showing plenty of determination in two hard contests. Last season Sir Abb .was regarded as one of the most promising stayers in Auckland, and it will be extremely unfortunate if wind trouble does come against him. Apparently it is not affecting him seriously at present, and it will be interesting to see how he fares when he attempts .a longer journey than a mile and a half ■

, The. others in the field will probably comprise, the less-fancied .section and a win for any of them would be in the nature of a surprise. Sanguine King may have just enough weight, and Miss Hushabye and Red Sun would require to show improvement on recent efforts in this class of event. Semper Paratus is also in the field, but nothing is known of his present fitness, though, as mentioned previously, he has raced unexpectedly weUatJimeswhen very big- m condition. '
