QUICKLY-MADE "SWEET"
A particularly attractive "sweet" .which,can. be. made very quickly, and ■served 'hot, is- "Banana Puffs," states the,: "Cape Times." It takes only 15 minutes to steam and is light, delicious; -and dainty. ■ . .?\ji.i.CUpfui of Hour, 2 teaspoonsful of ■ powder, and £ of a teaspoonfui "of salt into a. basin. Mix well; add. one-third of a cup of milk anflt one well-beaten egg. Mix thoroughly. Butter four custard cups, put a^teaspoonful of the batter into each cup, add half a banana, and then put two' teaspoonsful of the batter over the .banana. Set the- cups in a pan of boiling -water, cover them, and steam for' a quarter of an hour. Turn out "and serve with lemon sauce, which can be prepared while puffs are steaming. Sauce.—Boil a cupful of water, add a teaspoonful of cornflour which has been, mixed with a little water.
