WARDER INJURED
ACCIDENT WITH -RIFLE

AUCKLAND, December 11.
The accidental discharge of his rifle resulted in a warder =at Mount Eden prison, J. M.'McKenzie,. receiving part of the charge of buckshot in his left arm this morning. Mr. McKenzie, a married man living at Blockhouse Bay, was on duty when the accident oc-curred.-He escaped more serious injury, by a narrow margin.
.Although a detailed report has not been made it is believed that the rifle was discharged when Mr. McKenzie, who was^-ori one of the sentry posts at the prison', slipped.' Attention was attracted by -the. report" and assistance was immediately forthcoming.
