KEEP-IT-DARK.
K.eep-it-Dark mine, Reefton, reports tliat during the past six months the opening up of some of the adit levels has been in progress, and to date the No. 1 level has been cleared and timbered for a distance of 510 feet from I portal. This work was carried out with the object of picking up four shoots of ore, reported to have been encountered in this level and uriworked. To date three shoots of ore have been picked up, the average width being 18 inches, and the ore shows gold freely, being estimated to be worth over loz per ton. The object .is to clear this level to a point where it, will connect with the winze which in turn connects-with the low level,; thus making available a considerable block of high-grade ore ready for immediate treatment. It is anticipated! that .the position ..of: this winze.will ,b,e r.eached by,/the end of Janit-ai-y, M 7nen a 'more complete- development proposal will be putin Hand. •
