OPTIMISM IN ROME
PROPOSALS NOT RECEIVED
(Received December 11, 10 a.m.)
ROME, December 10. The text of the peace proposals has not been received yet.
The official spokesman stated that they were being awaited with an open mind. If they offered an honest minimum of Italy's necessities they would probably be accepted as a basis of discussion.
Optimism is growing regarding the proposals, Signor Mussolini's spokesman saying that signs of good will are evident everywhere.
