CITY APPOINTMENT

Mr. Robert J. Allender, assistant manager of the D.1.C., Wellington, has accepted an appointment as general manager of the recently reconstructed ei lbli' d Manufacturing Distributing *nd ™A£? nc? Co -' w™ headquarters in Wellington. The new company, which will be concerned in the manufacture of ladies and men's underwear and the marketing of various overseas- agencies, has purchased the Bellbird Manufacturing Co., and is carrying out important extensions to plant and factory, which will more than double the present production. A wholesale distributing company has also been formed as part of the organisation, and will market the company's production, throughout the Dominion. Mr. P. Hoole, of the late Bellbird Manufacturing Co., has been appointed manager of the manufacturing activities. ■ ■ : •

Mr. Allender, who received his education at Wellington College, has been associated with the retail and wholesale trade for over twenty-three years. He joined the D.I.C. nearly four years ago as assistant manager in Dunedin, and came to a similar position in the Wellington office some two years ago. He will take up his new position early, in the New Year.
