AEROPLANE CRASHES

MISHAP AT NELSON

PILOT. UNINJURED

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

NELSON, This Day.

While making his third landing at the Nelson Aerodrome at 6 o'clock this morning, a flying trainee, Mr. R. Page, in the Marlborough Aero Club's ZK-ADA, came into contact with a telegraph wires, the machine landing heavily. The crash caused extensive damage to the undergear, which was pushed back. The lower wings were also badly damaged, the centre of the machine was strained, and the fuselage broken against the pilot's seat.

Mr. Page escaped with a slight shaking. He is a service-car driver, and left on his usual run later.

The work of removing telegraph and power lines near the aerodrome has been in progres for some days.

The P. and T. Department reports that all telegraph lines running south from Nelson were brought down by the aeroplane, but communication was restored shortly after 8 o'clock.
