GOOD DEMAND FOR PIGS.
There was again a capacity yarding of pigs at the weekly pig fair conducted by the Dominion Auctioneering Company, Palmerston North, on Saturday last. There was a very good demand for all sorts with a large and keen bench of buyers present. Realisations were as follows:—Weaners, 12s to 19s; slips, to 20s; stores, to 28s; light porkers, 30s to 365; heavier porkers, up to 555; sows to farrow, 57s to 735.
There was also a good yarding of poultry, prices being as follows:— White hens, 3s 6d to 4s lOd; black hens, to 6s 6d; cockerels, to 7s; ducks, 4s 6d to 8s; geese, 5s to 6s. All prices being per pair.
