NEW PLYMOUTH JOTTINGS

NEW PLYMOUTH, December 7. Quite a fair team of the local horses having competed at Feilding there has not been a great deal of activity on I the New Plymouth track during the past week. However, with the holiday meetings getting closer, - the work should become more interesting this week.

H. Dulieu continues to be out of luck with his two representatives, Mustang and Chief Marionette. After his good showings at Te Rapa, Mustang, was confidently supported at Feilding, but his finishing efforts'were weak.

Lady Kyra has freshened up since racing at Te Rapa and is progressing nicely in her holiday preparation. There ■is a possibility that she may be taken to EUerslie for: the two concluding days'; 7'A good deal, however, will de^ pend upon her showings at New Plymouth. : : ■ •

Bonny Glow continues to please her trainer, W. Mantle, and the big filly is certainly doing well. She ran three furlongs in company with Lady Kyra in 38sec one morning last week, both finishing strongly. Whoa Johnnie is making steady progress but will probably require some racing before being seen at his best. Though nothing of an exacting nature is being asked of Chikara he is bearing a solid, healthy appearance. High Test hit out in good style over a.; couple/of :furlongs}on the plpugh at the weekend, beating Gleaming Gold' very comfortably. High Test has been troubled with a slight soreness, for some time, but.R. Barlow appears to have overcome the trouble.
