The Wellington Secondary Schools' Athletic Association wrote apologising for having approached the City Council direct for permission to use the Basin .Reserve on November 16 without making its application through the centre. It was not aware of the fact that it should have applied to the centre first, it stated.
The chairman said that as an affiliated member of the centre the association should know the rules. The centre considered the proposed tour of the Dominion by the Australian athletes, E. Hampson, J. Sheaves, and J. L. Wall, and it decided to leave it to the executive to investigate means of bringing these athletes to New Zealand, if the Auckland Centre agreed to Wellington's proposals. It was also decided, if the tour eventuated, that it be conducted on the same lines as the council of the N.Z.A.A.A. conducted its tours. Mr. A. C. Kitto said the decision was not meant to make profits at the expense of other centres; if the Wellington, Centre made a profit on its meeting the other contributing centres would benefit from a sharing of the profits.
Messrs. R. Spence, L.: A. Bond, A. K. Hill, and A. C. Kitto were appointed a sub-committee to devise means of raising funds for the centre's use, with particular attention to sending a representative team to compete in the national, championships at Dunedin.
