NATIONAL PARK ROAD

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—Why do not the authorities tar-mac the last half-mile of road leading to the Chateau Tongariro? Every car arriving here spreads a cloud of dust over the golf links and into the hotel. The amenities of this glorious place and splendid hotel are largely spoiled by the dust nuisance. Failure to tar-mac this small stretch of road is an example of spoiling the ship for a ha'porth of tar.—l am, etc.,

ENGLISH VISITOR. Chateau Tongariro, December 4, 1935. •
