FLYING ACCIDENT
A FORCED LANDING
C J. MELROSE INJURED
SYDNEY, December 3.
The aviator C. J. Melrose, while flying from Melbourne to Sydney, experienced bad weather today, and was forced to land in a paddock at Penrose, 106 miles south of Sydney. Xhe machine struck a stump which upended the engine, burying its nose in the earth. A wing was smashed. Melrose was semi-conscious when h» was lifted from the aeroplane. His face and head were cut, but apparently no bones were broken. It is now reported that his injuries are not serious and he should make a speedy racovery. His aeroplane Was wrecked. Railwaymen employed on the permanent way witnessed the accident, rushed to the spot, and rendered firstaid Melrose was conveyed 23 miles to the Bowral Hospital.
