CRICKET MATCH AT RAJKOT
RAJKOT, November 6. In the first match of their Indian tour the Australian cricket team, in reply to a score of 154 by West India States, carried their overnight score of 96 for six wickets to 197 (Ellis 37, Mair 42). At stumps they had made 21 in their second innings for the loss of one wicket.
Ramji took four wickets for 68, Narsing Rao two for 29, and Gartu four for 17.
In their second innings, West India States made 95 (Ellis 17, Gartu 25, Narsing Rao 15; Oxenham five wickets for 23, Mair three for 19). The innings occupied 155 minutes. The Australians' bowling and fielding were most effective.
