CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. So far no New Zealand Cup rider has been secured for Steeton, last year's winner. She had a change of stables after the Gore Meeting last week and is now under the care of J. A. Rowland. Unfortunately for the owner of Steeton Rowland's apprentice, C. T. Wilson, had already been engaged for Tuirau.

Hostis is engaged on Saturday in the Stewards' Handicap and Spring Plate but may not run in either race He struck himself a few days ago and is on the easy list at present. Owlsgleam has shown signs of soreness during the last few days and may have to miss her engagement in the Linwood Handicap on Saturday. Moonbeam went sore after her work yesterday and will not be able to start in the Linwood Handicap, though it is hoped she will be fit to run later in the meeting.

High Glee, who was unable to race at Trenlham owing to an attack of kidney trouble, is all right now and may be seen to advantage at Riccarton.
