ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATtON

The Chinese Consul in New Zealand, Mr. Feng Wang, has received a cablegram from the Nanking Government, informing him that Mr. Wang-Ching-Wei, Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, who was shot at the National Conference, is progressing favourably. The conference continued without interruption by this untoward incident.

According to a press dispatch the Prime Minister was shot at by an exsergeant of the 19th Canton Route Army. The Minister himself is a Cantonese. He was wounded in three places, but in no vital part of the body.
