(Received October 19, 1 p.m.) PRETORIA, October 18. "The italO'Abyssihian war acutely raises the question whether the League can be relied on to prevent war and give world security," said General Smuts at an Insurance Companies dinner. s
He added that fear of the annexation or domination of Abyssinia by a great European Power would mean training splendid military material into the biggest and most dangerous Black army the world had ever seen, whldh would menace peace in Europe.
