SUCCESSFUL EVENING
COMBINED STAFFS' DANCE
The St Francis' Hall was filled with a spirit of light-hearted gaiety when the combined staffs of the Colonial Motor Co., Ltd., Ford Sales .and Service, and Hope Gibbons Limited -held their annual dance.
A splendid orchestra-rendered sparkling music. The tables were -brightly .decorated with baskets of Iceland poppies and jonquils, and a delicious supper was served. The committee were heartily thanked for the work they had done to make the function a wonderful success. During the supper interval Colonel H. E. Avery extended, on behalf of the staffs, a hearty welcome home to Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Gibbons and Mr. R. B. Gibbons. They were greeted with acclamation and the singing of "For They are Jolly Good Fellows." Mr. R. B. Gibbons suitably responded. An exhibition of the quick-step and tango given by Miss Zena Bright and Mr. Cottier and a tap burlesque by Miss S. Bennetts, were greatly enjoyed by the guests.
