RUGBBY FOOTBALL
CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS.
The local senior A grade (first div.*sion) Rugby football championship should finish tomorrow afternoon, unless the results make a play-off necessary. Two matches have a' bearing upon the final.winning of the championship, and both are to be played at Athletic Park tomorrow afternoon, so that enthusiasts should be provided with an eventful afternoon's sport. The present leaders, Petone, are to/meet Wellington College Old Boys' in the match commencing .at 3,o'olbck,'arid.it is expected that Petone Ayill have/no easy path to success in' iliis ciatcli, which they must win to take the" honours, unless the unexpected happens in the early game,_ which will be between Hutt and Johnsonville. Wins for Hutt and Old Boys in ' these matches would give Hutt the championship, as they are only a point behind Petone: Old Boys cannot gain the premiership whatever the results. A surprise win by Johnsonville in the early game would place Petone in an unassailable position. The'afternoon's programme holds much of " interest. Other senior matches will include one between Poneke and Athletic, to "be played at Newtown Park.
